Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework for English Language and Literature.

• Guide students in exploring a wide range of literary genres and non-literary texts, focusing on critical analysis, language development, and communication skills.
• Utilize formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and the development of IB Learner Profile attributes.
• Encourage students to make connections between literature, culture, and their own lives, developing international-mindedness.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification (state, national, or international) is required.
• A minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably within the IB MYP framework.
• Strong knowledge of the IB philosophy and English Language and Literature curriculum.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom to enhance learning.
• A passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to appreciate the richness of language.

Preferred Qualifications

• IB MYP training or certification.

Support for Students:

• Monitor and track students’ progress, offering additional support or resources where needed.

Professional Development and Collaboration:

• Stay up to date with IB curriculum developments and participate in IB training sessions as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues, especially within the languages department and IB faculty, to ensure consistency in teaching standards and student support.

Extracurricular Involvement:

• Contribute to the broader school community by supporting extracurricular activities related to German language and culture, such as language clubs, cultural events, or international trips.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in German, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching certification in German or relevant qualification.
• Experience teaching German at the high school level, preferably in an IB DP setting.
• In-depth knowledge of the IB DP curriculum and assessment structure.
• Strong proficiency in both written and spoken German.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying linguistic abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IB DP certification or experience teaching IB DP German.
• Experience working in an international school or multicultural environment.
• Familiarity with using technology in the classroom to enhance language learning.
• Experience in organizing or participating in German cultural events or exchange programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Slovene Language and Literature or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license in Slovene language education.
• Experience teaching Slovene, preferably within the IB framework.
• In-depth knowledge of Slovene language, literature, and cultural studies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
