I am an enthusiastic educator who has been teaching in international schools throughout Europe for the past nineteen years. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio where I attended John Carroll University and received a B.A. in Political Science. Teaching is my passion, so I continued my education and obtained a Master of Science degree in multidisciplinary studies in education. I carry dual citizenship between the United States and Slovenia, and although I was born in the United States, my home is in Moravče, Slovenia.
I have experience teaching a wide range of grades and subjects with a specialty in middle school and secondary literature and writing. I prepare engaging lessons that pique students’ curiosity and motivate them to learn with passion. I believe in creating a classroom environment where students feel safe and accepted. This type of classroom fosters a student’s growth as an individual and gives the opportunity for developing skills in teamwork, leadership, and communication. I love to integrate technology, design projects, take field trips, invite guest speakers, debate, etc. Finally, my students have a strong voice in how we go about our studies as I believe that an engaged student wants to take ownership of his/her education.
