Rachel is excited to join LIS as a teacher of MYP English Language & Literature and Individuals & Societies. Originally from a small town in Michigan, Rachel’s journey has taken her back and forth across the Atlantic, living in France, Tennessee, the UK, and for the past five years, in beautiful Slovenia.
Rachel holds a B.A. in History and English from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a M.A. in Children’s Literature from Roehampton University, UK. She has diplomas from the Institute of Children’s Literature in creative writing and has been published in children’s magazines. Rachel has taught American high school students, bilingual primary learners in an English literacy programme in France, and all grade levels of the IBMYP at the International School of Paris where she was MYP certified. Rachel has a strong affinity for the IBO as she’s also the parent of three children who are former and/or current PYP, MYP, and DP students.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and furry companions (a cat and two dogs), reading great books, taking walks in the woods, and growing herbs for her home apothecary.
