While most of our fellow students embarked on an exciting adventure to Bovec this week, a few of us had the pleasure of delving into the captivating world of colors within our classroom during 4th and 5th-grade Slovene Culture class. What a delightful and playful experience it was! Interestingly, we discovered that many colors share the same names in both Slovene and Russian, so learning them will not be too hard a nut to crack.
We engaged in a lively game, putting names of colors to faces while immersing ourselves in the captivating journey of mastering the verb “to have.” Along the way, a question emerged: “Ima tvoja oseba sive lase?” (Does your person have gray hair?) The suspense was tangible as we eagerly sought to unveil the identity of our fellow players’ mystery person.
Something extraordinary has been unfolding in the 7th and 8th Grade Slovene Culture class. Having familiarized ourselves with the intricate structure of Slovene sentences and the complexities of verb conjugation—despite the occasional challenges—we have reached a level of comfort in writing and reading Slovene that deserves celebration. And what better way to showcase our newly acquired skills than crafting a Slovene movie script?
This week, our brave copy editors dedicated themselves to refining our cinematic masterpiece, leaving us excited for the outcome. As we eagerly await the return of the remaining members of our movie crew from their wild adventures, we can’t contain our excitement to can film what is bound to be one of the most remarkable Slovene movies in recent years.
