Collaboration between various subject areas is a hallmark of the IB curriculum. Spanish students from grades K to 6 had the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and to learn how to actively contribute to a more sustainable future. This collaboration within the IB unit “Sharing the Planet”, provided a unique platform for integrating language learning, cultural understanding, and environmental consciousness. By incorporating into our classes, topics such as landscapes, the environment, recycling, pollution, and volunteer work in Spanish language, students were empowered to become active global citizens who value and protect our planet. Through their studies, they not only enhanced their language proficiency but also developed a sense of environmental management, ensuring a more sustainable future for generations to come.
