The school day has been full of new and exciting projects. So many new (and returning) students, parents, and staff to greet. Friendships rekindled and new bonds were hastily made. Some year groups have even been split, keeping our class sizes small in order to fully support each individual’s need. Not to mention the fact that some of these classes are in a brand new building. (I don’t think anyone will ever quite appreciate how much went into making that happen, and I’m sure that much gratitude is due to many.)
As we implement the IB program at our school, we are able to continue offering quality interdisciplinary education for our lifelong learners. With our dedicated team of experienced staff, our potential seems to know no bounds.
The process of meeting and accessing potential new EAL students has been an enjoyable challenge. (And we are sure that there will be many more to come.) A rigorous process of testing, accessing, and collaboration will ensure that our children receive the level of support they need, and new materials and careful planning will enable them to be independent within the classroom in the shortest possible time.
All this, and after-school activities have yet to start! I’m sure we are all looking forward to sharing in the fantastic year ahead.
