Nursery Teacher (Early Years Educator – Ages 1–3)

The successful candidate will work with children aged approximately 11 months to 3 years, following the principles of the IB Early Years framework and the Slovenian national preschool curriculum.

🎯 Purpose of the Role

The Nursery Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the holistic development of young children. This includes planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities while ensuring high standards of care and safety.

🎓 Required Education (Slovenian Legislation)

• Bachelor’s degree (1st cycle) or Master’s degree (2nd cycle) in Preschool Education / Early Childhood Education.
• Equivalent recognised pedagogical qualification in Slovenia.
• Legal requirements: Professional examination in education, active knowledge of Slovenian, clean criminal record, and medical fitness.

⭐ Required Experience & Skills

• Experience with infants and toddlers (0–3 years) in a nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of developmental milestones and play-based learning.
• Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence.
• Preferred: English fluency (C1), familiarity with IB, Montessori, or Reggio Emilia approaches.

• Supporting emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• High-quality care (feeding, hygiene, rest routines).
• Observing and documenting child development and communicating with parents.

🎓 Zahtevana izobrazba

• Visokošolska strokovna izobrazba (1. bolonjska stopnja) ali magisterij (2. bolonjska stopnja) s področja predšolske vzgoje.
• Opravljen strokovni izpit v vzgoji in izobraževanju.
• Aktivno znanje slovenskega jezika.

🧠 Zahtevana znanja in kompetence

• Izkušnje z delom z dojenčki in malčki (0–3 leta).
• Poznavanje razvojnih mejnikov in sposobnost načrtovanja dejavnosti skozi igro.
• Čustvena inteligenca, potrpežljivost in empatija.
• Dobro znanje angleškega jezika (priporočena raven C1).
