Teacher of Slovene Language (PYP, MYP)

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality IB Slovene lessons that align with the IB curriculum standards. Develop and implement a comprehensive Slovene language program that covers language acquisition, literature, and cultural studies. Tailor instructional methods to meet the needs of advanced Slovene language learners. Student Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and proficiency. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance. Prepare students for IB assessments, ensuring adherence to IB standards and practices. Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement. Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive and respectful learning environment. Extracurricular Activities: Organize and lead extracurricular activities related to Slovene language and culture, such as literary clubs, cultural events, and competitions. Support students in preparing for Slovene language competitions and cultural events. Professional Development: Stay updated with current developments in Slovene language education and the IB curriculum. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the language program. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and other required documentation. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding students' progress and any issues that arise. Participate in school meetings, committees, and other assigned duties as required.

Bachelor's Degree:

Bachelor’s degree in Slovene Language and Literature or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Valid teaching certification/license in Slovene language education. Experience teaching Slovene, preferably within the IB framework. In-depth knowledge of Slovene language, literature, and cultural studies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students. Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.

Experience:

IB training and certification. Experience in teaching advanced language learners. Background in diverse Slovene literary genres and cultural traditions. Experience in organizing and directing Slovene language and cultural events
